State Fair

State Fair is the title of a 1933 movie directed by Henry King and starring Janet Gaynor, Will Rogers, and Lew Ayres. There is also an even more famous 1945 musical remake in Technicolor, directed by Walter Lang and starring Jeanne Crain, Dana Andrews, Dick Haymes, Vivian Blaine, and Charles Winninger, as well as a financially and critically unsuccessful 1962 film version of the musical starring Pat Boone, Bobby Darin, Ann-Margret, Tom Ewell, and Alice Faye. In 1996 it was adapted for a Broadway musical of the same name, with additional songs taken from other Rodgers and Hammerstein shows.
